Marine pontoon structure in UHDC
The floating pilot on the West Coast of Ireland demonstrates the use of UHDC in a permanently floating marine structure. The pontoon is anchored in the Atlantic and exposed to wave action, chlorides and wet-dry cycles.
The structure is instrumented with sensors and inspected at regular intervals to track the evolution of the material and to validate the self-healing capacity of the crystalline admixtures in real service conditions.
