The pilot consists of offshore aquaculture rafts made in Ultra High Performance Concrete. Floating rafts are permanently exposed to chlorides, wave action and biofouling, which makes them an ideal demonstrator for the durability of the material in a real marine environment.
The raft elements are cast with the tailored UHDC mix, installed at an aquaculture facility in the Mediterranean Sea and monitored over the project lifetime. The monitoring programme includes corrosion potential mapping, chloride profiles and crack mapping.
