AQUACULTURE MUSSEL RAFT

UHDC mussel farming raft. Durable substitute of traditional wooden rafts.

A TRL7 540m2 UHDC raft has been floated in Valencia (Spain) monitored with continuous measurement of the strain of the beams, some of them are designed suffer micro-cracking under service to evaluate the level of self-healing reached with different concrete mixtures.

  • Measure the evolution of the corrosion in beams with different crack widths
  • Verify experimentally the progression of the cracking compared to the estimated in the design
  • Continuous control of the strain of the beams
  • Verify some of the statements made in the DAD theory
  • Study the self-healing capacity of cracked elements with different dosages (UHPC vs. UHDC)
  • Support the communication and dissemination activities (camera, MOOC…)
  • Analize in the precast plant the bottlenecks with different dosages

DEMONSTRATOR NEWS

Two months after the installation of the ReSHEALience project's aquaculture pilot, RDC and PREFFOR are starting to collect data from the sensors installed by IDM and check the evolution of the microcracks produced during its production process.
Floating of the pilot 3 in Valencia
Floating of the pilot 3 of the ReSHEALience project. The TRL7 demonstrator has been set up in Valencia (Spain). Designed by RDC and produced by PREFFOR. Monitoring system (sensors, camera): CSIC, IDM and RDC
