Pilots

To validate the capacity of the UHDC and the new developments, the ReSHEALience project implements 6 pilots (TRL6-TRL7) covering two strategic sectors where the material is expected to add high value and generate large impacts: marine structures (XS – chloride induced corrosion) and infrastructures for geothermal/biomass energy plants (XA – chemical attack).

XA · TRL6

Pilot 1 – Acid attack, Chiusdino (Italy)

Geothermal power plant tower basin (EGP). Cooling tower fluid collection basins are critical due to the fluid aggressiveness and environmental risks.

XA · TRL7

Pilot 2 – Acid attack, Chiusdino (Italy)

Drilling platform mud collection basin (EGP). In drilling sites a residue basin is used during the mud recycling. Basins are chemically and mechanically stressed due to frequent cleaning.

XS · TRL7

Pilot 3 – CL induced attack, Mediterranean Sea

Offshore aquaculture rafts made in Ultra High Performance Concrete, exposed to the marine environment.

XS · TRL6

Pilot 4 – CL induced attack, Mediterranean Sea

Offshore floating platform for wind turbine based on UHDC (Rover Maritime).

XS · TRL6

Pilot 5 – Floating pilot, West Coast of Ireland

Marine pontoon structure in UHDC, monitored for chloride induced corrosion in the Atlantic.

XS · TRL7

Pilot 6 – CL induced attack, Mediterranean Sea

Harbour infrastructure element cast with crystalline waterproofing admixtures, validated in service conditions.
