PILOTS

1

INCREASE DURABILITY

Increase significantly the durability of concrete to decrease maintenance and reduce consumption of resources.
This innovative and sustainable material is defined as Ultra High Durability Concrete (UHDC).

2

QUANTIFY DURABILITY

Quantify and predict the durability of UHDC structures in different service conditions when subjected to Extremely Aggressive Exposures (EAE).

3

VALIDATE DURABILITY

Validate the capacity of the UHDC and the new developments, through 6 pilots (TRL6-TRL7) covering two strategic sectors where the material is expected to add high value and generate large impacts.

PILOTS

To validate the capacity of the UHDC and the new developments

ACID ATTACK

Chiusdino (Italy).
Geothermal power plant tower basin (EGP).
Cooling tower fluid collection basins are critical due to the fluid aggressiveness and environmental risks.

NORTHERN ATLANTIC CL
and LOW TEMPERATURE ATTACK

Galway bay (Ireland)
(BaPreC)
Precast floating pontoons along the British Isles coast. Current design foresees HPC and high covers.

CL INDUCED ATTACK

Malta Public abattoir.
Damaged water tower (UM).
Concrete water tower from 1st half of the XX century with severe degradation.

A successful year

This first year of the ReSHEALience project has been an exciting and huge challenge. Together we have worked evaluating the existing problems in aggressive exposure environments (EAE), identifying durable and more affordable concrete mixtures (UHDC) and developing a useful tool to design structures according to durability criteria (DAD). Our goal for the next three years
ReSHEALience project will be exhibited during the 8th ECTP Conference “When EU Construction industry shapes high-tech Sustainable Built Environment”
